Package 12 results!

Time to award another basket! Only one this time, though; since we didn't do a lot of promoting to our neighbors to the north, we're giving them a little more time to get the word out. :) So right now we'll award Package #12--which is, by the way, getting 4 bonus books that I completely forgot to list! Big thanks to Brock Eastman, who I met at a book signing last Saturday and who donated 2 signed copies of Taken, from his Quest for Truth tween series, and two copies of Howl Sage from his Sages of Darkness YA trilogy!

So, to get to it, here we go! The winner of Package #12 is....

Carole Towriss! Congratulations! Keep an eye out for my email!

We're getting close to the end, folks--but if you're a writer, then the fun is just beginning! We have three writing-related packages that you're going to loooooove. One of them is up right now; go take a look!

PACKAGE #14 OPEN FOR RAFFLE!

BEFORE YOU ENTER TO WIN: Please make sure you have read this post, which explains how the raffle works. We want everyone on the same page so there's no confusion!

This package is special--it's open to California residents only! (Well--or people planning on visiting California soon, or people who would like to gift the package to someone in California.) Emily is located in Corona, and accepts engagements in LA County, Orange County, the Inland Empire, and some parts of San Diego county.

Comments close at noon on Thursday, December 1.

PACKAGE 14: Emily Stelea Photography Package (So Cal only) ($195)

This package contains three items:

~ One photography session (maternity, newborn, or children/family--or the session price can be applied to a birth session if the winner so chooses)

~ One 11x14 mounted wall print

~ 25% off any other orders from the winner's session

To see some of Emily's amazing work, check out her website.

Emily works exclusively in natural light and on location, and she specializes in home and environmental shoots. If you want to get your shoot done before Christmas, she just might be able to do that depending on what prints/products you want in time for Christmas. (Emily isn't just the photographer, she also offers a large selection of prints and canvas, albums, jewelry, and framing.) She'll contact the winner immediately so they can get things started! And if you have any questions, you can contact her through her website and she'll do her best to answer before the raffle for this item closes.

PACKAGE #2 OPEN FOR RAFFLE!

BEFORE YOU ENTER TO WIN: Please make sure you have read this post, which explains how the raffle works. We want everyone on the same page so there's no confusion!

Comments will close at noon on Thursday, December 1.

PACKAGE 2: Writing 2 ($1,385)
2 PDFs (A Writer’s Guide to Personality Disorders and A Writers Guide to Personality Types) by Jeannie Campbell -- Jeannie is a psychologist who puts her unique skills to work for authors. I lost her donation in the shuffle so it never got posted on the blog--my apologies, Jeannie! This donation includes two PDF books Jeannie has written to help writers develop their characters more fully and to accurately depict personality disorders in their characters.

If Lady Luck has turned her back on you yet again, fear not--there are still seven more packages to be won before the raffle ends on Friday. (And even when it's over you won't be out of luck--new prizes will be announced next week for a different kind of raffle!) Check out the new packages that are up and replenish your ticket count with another donation if you have to--let's get to 30% by tomorrow, shall we? Ready, set, GO!

New item added to Package #12!

My bad! This item came in this morning and I forgot to add it before the raffle post went live. It's a beautiful antique thistle and white heather brooch with two amethysts, donated from my friend across the pond, Rachel Coulson!

DON'T ENTER HERE TO WIN IT! Go to Package 12 and enter your tickets there to win the brooch AND all the other awesome stuff in the package! Thanks Rachel!

EJ, identify yourself!

Someone entered the raffle for Package #5 under the name EJ but left no email address. EJ, can you please contact me? I can't find you on the donor roster to record your tickets. Thanks! helptherogs@gmail.com

I did the drawing wrong for Package #8. I forgot Carrie put in 5 tickets but I only put the max number as 2. So I just did a new one with the true total number of tickets--6--and what do you know...

A note from Sandi

I don’t know how to write a decent “thank you” to everyone, especially to Alison, for all these gifts and donations, and the time and effort she has put in to this amazing fundraiser. How do I find the right words to convey my amazement and appreciation for all of you? How can I ever show my appreciation? Nothing seems good enough. And really, nothing is.

So please accept this note as more than what it conveys. Please know my heart is deeply touched and my soul has been moved.

You see, I used to doubt God’s love in so many ways. If it were up to me, I would have given up on me a long time ago. But God hasn’t given up. If anything He keeps shouting his love for me in astonishing ways, this being one of them. I mean, there are people helping who I’ve never even had the privilege of meeting. And Alison took on this huge project when she has her own deadlines to meet. Thank you, Alison.

I recall Alison saying she was just following God’s nudging on her heart. Apparently, God is also nudging all of you! All I can say is I’m feeling God’s love through everyone here. His love is overwhelming (and I mean that in a good way).

Thank you all for drenching me in the love of the Lord and allowing yourselves to be His instruments.

Love,
Sandi

How the raffle works

Please read this entire post carefully, and leave any questions you have in the comments! Yes, it's long, but I'm trying to be thorough--we want everyone to be on the same page, and I want to make sure there is no confusion about anything. If I've forgotten to explain anything, please let me know in the comments. :)

When you made your donation to Sandi's fundraiser, you were granted virtual raffle "tickets"--one for each $5 you donated. Using GiveForward's donor tracking, we are able to see how much you donated and record the number of tickets to which you are entitled. At any time you may donate more money to the fundraiser to get more "tickets."

The reason we keep saying "tickets" because they aren't really tickets at all--they're blog comments! :) And the way you'll enter to win packages is by leaving a comment on the package's post when it is listed for the raffle. In your comment, be sure to leave your email address so we can contact you if you win. If you *really* want to win a package, you may choose to leave more than one comment on the post. To do this, you can post ONE comment, and state in it that you wish for the comment to count for X number of tickets. We'll keep track on our end of how many you're using and how many you have left. If you leave a comment but technically have no more comments left to leave, your comment will not be taken into account when we go to pick a winner. It's up to you to keep track of your donations and how many comments you have left--and remember, if you run out, you can always donate more and get more comments! :) If you've forgotten, you can go back to GiveForward.com and log in; you'll be given a summary of your donations to the fundraiser.

To stay within the law, we do have to allow people to enter at least once without leaving a donation. So, if you choose to enter to win a package without leaving a donation, you must state in your comment that you are donating for free. Obviously we think that's a pretty crummy thing to do, but hey, it's a free country and the law's the law, so there you go. :)

We'll post two packages per day to be raffled off. Each post will go up at noon MST and comments will close 24 hours later. When I'm able to, I will actually close comments at that time so that no more can be left; when i'm unable to, let it be understood that any comment left after noon will not be considered when a winner is drawn. We'll be using Random.org to draw winners--we'll label the comments starting with 1 (the first comment left), and set Random.org to choose one number from 1-whatever # represents the number of comments left (for example, if there are 25 comments, them Random.org will choose one number between 1 and 25). If someone has marked their comment to count as more than one ticket, then their comment will be labeled with consecutive digits (for example, if they're the 4th person to comment and want their comment to count for 5 tickets, then their comment will be labeled as 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and the next commenter after them will be 9).

I will post a screen shot of the Random.org result in a new post, and the winner will be notified via email that they have won. Winners will need to respond to this email with their full name and mailing address. The winner has 72 hours to respond to the notification email. If the winner does not respond in time, a new winner will be chosen. The generous prize donors are responsible for shipping their items to you within 7 days, and I don't want to leave them hanging while they're in the middle of dealing with the busyness of the holiday season.

All items you have won will be sent to you and cannot be divvied up and mailed to multiple addresses.

Please do not delete or modify comments after they have been left. I don't want the numbering of the comments to be called into question when it's time to draw a winner. Leave your comments wisely!

I think that's it--thanks for reading and good luck!

The packages!!!

BEFORE YOU START READING THROUGH THIS LIST:

1. Please note that the raffle is NOT starting yet. So no matter how much you're drooling over a particular package, don't leave a comment to try to win it. :)

2. This is not necessarily the order in which the packages will be raffled off. I'll try to come up with a schedule before Friday, but I can't guarantee it'll get done, so if you haven't signed up yet to receive notifications in your email, you might want to do that. That way you'll see when your favorite packages are posted for the raffle. The sign-up is in the sidebar and is labeled "FOLLOW BY EMAIL".

3. There are some items in here that were not yet featured on the blog. I apologize. When the packages are posted for the raffle starting the 25th, pictures and descriptions of everything new will be included in the post so you know exactly what you're getting if you win that package.

4. I was going to add links to everything, but I don't think I have it in me right now! I'll try to go back and do it; my apologies if it doesn't happen.

5. The values noted beside each package denotes the total value of all the items the package contains.

6. A reminder about Package 13: Critique from Wendy Chorot--This package is only available to those who have donated $100, $200, or $500 to the fundraiser. The winner will receive editing equivalent to double their donation. For more details see this post: Raffle Prize: Editing Galore!
