Raffle Prize: Yarn! Crochet stuff! Knitting stuff!

It is a serious temptation to sit in this office surrounded by so many crafting goodies, I tell you what.

From Beth Dinoff of Whorling Tides fiber arts comes a red art yarn/batt gift composed of 9 different gorgeous elements, 8 oz. of beautiful green/brown merino and bamboo fleece, and 4 oz. of striking blue/purple fleece. All are hand-dyed. A spinner's dream!

And in case you, like me, have no idea what you'd do with this stuff, here are a few ideas. First off, and the most obvious--get it spun! I'm hoping to get some spinning donated for the fundraiser, too, but in the event that we don't, there are loads of spinning enthusiasts on Ravelry.com that you could get in touch with. Also, local alpaca or sheep farms might be able to get you in touch with a local spinner, especially if the farm has its own boutique.

Batt can also be used for felting. Hats, soap covers, art pieces--felting has all sorts of potential, and is also a great activity for kids!

And to show you how cool that yarn art kit is--check out an example of how you can transform the elements of the kit into some seriously fun crafting material:

Gorgeous!! Let me at it!

From Juliet Kennedy comes a scarf kit with yarn, and even more yarn! There are three balls for the kit:
1 ball of Jo Sharp Silkroad yarn (87% wool, 13% silk), color: tapenade, 60 yards (retail cost: $8.50)
1 ball of Jo Sharp Silkroad yarn (87% wool, 13% silk), color: elm, 60 yards (retail cost: $8.50)
1 ball of Di Ve Autunno yarn (100% fine merino wool), color: chrysolite (?), 98 yards (retail cost: $6.75)

And also included are five skeins of Berocco Ultra Alpaca:

Are your fingers itching to get working yet? If not, maybe you just need some tools and ideas. Juliette has also included Clover No. 8 (9" in length) Takumi bamboo straight knitting needles and Clover No. 11 (29" in length) Takumi bamboo circular knitting needles.

And for those of you who, like me, are not coordinated enough to wield two pointy sticks, Crystal at Find Your Stash in Colorado has donated a crochet kit from The Crochet Dude. Included are  9 hooks (sizes D-K and Q), stitch markers, gauge tool, foam comfort handles, yarn sleeves, and a project book. Perfect for those looking to start a new hobby in the coming year! Also donated were Very Easy Circular Knits and Austermann Elements No. 1 knitting project book.

Crocheters, you haven't been left high and dry for projects--we have three design books for you, too! T-Shirt Dresses & Accessories, Learn to Do Surface Stitches, and Pretty Summer Fashion books will keep your hooks plenty busy!

Seriously, how can you resist this stuff?! Donate through the link in the sidebar right now to get some more raffle tickets--you're not going to want to miss out on this one!
